Evaluation, scoring & awarding certificates
Integrating RGBlink Videowall Controllers with OpenAPI [COMING SOON]
1. Evaluating learning
The instructor checks progress through a baseline diagnostic, discussion, knowledge checks, worksheets and practical observation. Formal completion assessment combines a written knowledge test with a practical task and design defence, aligned to the published learning objectives. In team exercises, observation and targeted questions establish each learner's individual contribution and understanding.
2. Scoring & passing requirements
- Written assessment
- An equally weighted selected-response knowledge test aligned to the course learning objectives.20 selected-response questions in 20 minutes, each of equal weight.
- Practical assessment
- A specification package and design defence, marked against the practical rubric. The instructor observes individual contribution and uses targeted questions to verify learning.
Practical scoring anchors: full credit for complete, correct, traceable and project-testable evidence; partial credit for a materially correct approach with minor omissions that do not invalidate the architecture; no credit for absent, unsupported, contradictory or unsafe evidence. A mandatory capacity or compatibility decision that is wrong or unsupported, or verification that cannot establish required performance, is a critical failure.
All passing requirements must be met
- Meet the overall passing standard set for this course.
- Meet the minimum standard on the practical. A strong written result cannot replace the practical minimum.
- No unresolved critical failure in the practical evidence.
- Recorded attendance, completion of both assessment components and instructor sign-off.

3. Feedback & remediation
The instructor marks the written test, applies the practical rubric and records the results. Where requirements are not met, missed objectives are reviewed and remediation uses alternate questions with targeted oral or practical evidence. A certificate is withheld while attendance, assessment or critical practical requirements remain unmet; remediation does not waive the passing standard. The instructor confirms any follow-up arrangements.
4. Reviewing & awarding certificates
- Verify the learner's identity and attendance record, and confirm completion of the named course and both assessment components.
- Record written, practical and overall scores, verify every passing requirement and critical evidence, and obtain instructor sign-off.
- Prepare a learner-specific certificate showing the learner name, course title and code, instructional hours, completion date, instructor, authorised signatory and unique certificate ID.
- Authorise and check the final certificate, ensuring template placeholders have been removed, before issuing it.
- Attendance alone, participation in exercises or an incomplete assessment is not sufficient for a completion certificate. A blank template or preview is not an issued certificate.
5. Completion records & enquiries
RGBlink retains learner, course/version, completion date, instructor, attendance evidence, assessment results, remediation and certificate-decision records, with the unique certificate ID linked to the completion record. For an assessment enquiry or certificate verification, contact RGBlink with the course code, completion date and certificate ID if available. Do not post personal assessment records publicly.
